Mating season

I fear it is upon us. Can anyone tell me if there is any truth in the rumour that conkers around the home repel spiders?

    Aparently it is true. There are even conker sprays and things you can buy to try and put them off.
    My step-mum swears by a bowl of conkers in water in the corners of the rooms.
