Creativity in the menstrual cycle, tie dye

I've been aware for a few years now that there are times when I feel much more creative than others. However, it's only just now that I've got round to Googling and have found that I am not alone! Here is an interesting article about the menstrual cycle and creativity.

I'm not quite sure where the chocolate eating phase or the 'Iwant to be alone' phase figures within the creative rhythm. I've not got it all entirely sussed yet. I'm going to start paying more attention though - even if only to ensure that I've got a good supply of Green and Blacks for when it's needed.

So, without further ado, I decided to take an old cotton candy striped bed sheet, (you know the type, your mother may have had one...), some fabric dye and a ball of elastic bands.

Hermione and I bunched it up and tied bands round tightly.

We followed the instructions but this unfortunately was the rather disappointing result.

Drying in the breeze.

Now, what to do with a very old, badly tie dyed, cotton candy stripe bed sheet? The idea was that I could turn it into little draw string bags to keep wooden gnomes or fir cones in.
That may well still happen. In the meantime, I have learned that even when overcome with a creative urge,
it's a good idea to check out how to do things.
