Seasonal mantle
I've decided to make my mantle a reflection of the seasons. I'm forever dragging the outdoors indoors but it tends to end up here and there, as opposed to in one specific place.
This is how it looks now. Now I've finished a patchwork which I've been on with for ages I'm hoping to start on some sort of autumn garland. Any ideas anyone?

No good asking me I'm not creative at all. The fireplace looks lovely though
I'm not *that* creative but perhaps start with things that the children can collect, seed pods, pinecones... lovley oranges, deep reds, shades of brown...
I think it's a great idea to get the children involved and also to provide a focal point for all the stuff they drag in too. This time next year we may need a mantle extension - perhaps radiator mantles :-)
